Greenman Marathon – General Conditions of Entry

1. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE
1.1 These General Conditions of Entry ("Conditions") apply to the Greenman Marathon ("Event") organised by Greenman Marathon Ltd ("We" or "Us").
1.2 These Conditions apply to all applicants and participants ("You" or "Your") and govern Your application for and participation in the Event.
1.3 By applying for or participating in the Event, You agree to comply with these Conditions and all applicable laws.
1.4 Please note the important information contained in clauses 3 (Entry Transfer), 6 (Cancellation by Us), and 9 (Liability).

2. DEFINITIONS
2.1 The following definitions apply:
a. "Agreement": These Conditions of Entry and any documents referred to herein;
b. "Entry Fee": The fee paid by You for entry into the Event;
c. "Force Majeure Event": Any circumstance beyond Our reasonable control including, but not limited to, extreme weather, natural disasters, war, pandemics, civil unrest, government action, or failure of utilities;
d. "Event Date": The official date of the Greenman Marathon;
e. "Green Charities": Charitable organisations whose primary mission includes environmental protection, conservation, or sustainability initiatives;
f. "You"/"Your": The individual who applies to enter or participates in the Event.

3. ENTRY AND TRANSFERABILITY
3.1 You must be 18 years or older on the Event Date to participate.
3.2 Entries are personal to You and may not be sold, transferred, or gifted to another individual.
3.3 If You are unable to participate, You may request a deferral to the following year's event, subject to Our approval and capacity.

4. PAYMENT
4.1 The Entry Fee must be paid in full at the time of registration. Your place is only confirmed once payment is received and You receive written confirmation.
4.2 20% of Your Entry Fee is donated to Green Charities. This amount is non-refundable under any circumstances.

5. EVENT PARTICIPATION AND SAFETY
5.1 Participation in the Event is at Your own risk.
5.2 You confirm that You are medically fit and capable of completing the Event. You should consult a healthcare professional before participating.
5.3 You must follow all instructions given by Event officials, marshals, and emergency services.
5.4 Pets, wheeled devices (excluding authorised wheelchairs), or assistance from non-participants are not allowed on the course.

6. CANCELLATION OR MODIFICATION BY US
6.1 We reserve the right to modify or cancel the Event in the event of a Force Majeure Event or where safety or public health is at risk.
6.2 If the Event is cancelled, We will endeavour to offer deferral to a future event or a virtual option, but refunds (excluding the charity donation) are not guaranteed.

7. WITHDRAWAL BY YOU
7.1 If You withdraw voluntarily, the Entry Fee is non-refundable.
7.2 You may contact Us to request a deferral, which is not guaranteed and will be considered case-by-case.

8. PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA
8.1 By participating in the Event, You consent to being photographed or filmed for use in promotional materials, websites, social media, or partner communications.

9. LIABILITY
9.1 We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury incurred by You in connection with the Event unless caused by Our negligence.
9.2 We do not accept liability for loss of profit, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss.
9.3 Nothing in these Conditions shall limit Our liability for death or personal injury caused by Our negligence or for fraud.

10. DATA PROTECTION
10.1 We process Your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on Our website.

11. GOVERNING LAW
11.1 These Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
